Community Involvement

Mission Controls Employees Reach Out

Douglas Terrel visits preschool with his bagpipes Mission Controls, in helping to "sustain the larger Community in which we live and work," has involved itself in numerous community, civic, and charitable works.

Volunteer Days

Each Mission Controls employee is provided with two "Volunteer Days." These are paid days in which the employee can personally and directly apply his or her efforts to some form of volunteer or charitable work. One employee helped take disabled children out for a day on the ski slopes. Others have helped out in a variety of ways at schools. Some have donated time at cancer care centers.

Two of our employees traveled to Romania to spend two weeks putting up wall board and helping in other ways to build a milk processing plant at a state-run orphanage called Caminul Felix. Our Vision newsletter (Volume 3, Number 3) has an article about their trip. Mission Controls also contributed funds that helped buy another cow for the orphanage.

Mission Controls contributes in other ways to the health of the community at large. One employee plays bagpipes with a local pipes-and-drums band that performs at charitable fundraisers. Another coaches a Little League team. Others help out at their children’s schools.
